Wahten’s Single Barrle Store Pick

  • Straight bourbon whiskey produced by Charles Medley Distillery
  • Distilled at a non-disclosed distillery
  • Traditional family mash bill of 77% corn, 13% malted barley, and 10% rye
  • Aged a minimum of 6 years in toasted, char level 3 barrels from Independent Stave Company
  • Aromas of red apple skin, clove, mint, and brown sugar on the nose transition to a bombastic palate of burnt peanut, roasted corn, cantaloupe, and allspice with cacao, green papaya, jasmine tea on a peppery finish
  • Non-chill filtered; 47% ABV

Chosen by the family through a meticulous blind tasting of samples at bottling proof, the distinctive high-corn, high-barley, and low-rye Medley mash bill packs 250 years of bourbon-making tradition into every bottle—in fact, R. Wathen Medley is widely credited as the originator of the Single Barrel Bourbon concept. As dangerously easy to sip neat as it is tempting to mix into cocktails, Wathen’s Single Barrel Bourbon is a staple American whiskey.

Smoke Wagon Bourbon

Smoke Wagon? Does that mean it's smokey? Smoke Wagon is actually old west slang for the 1873 Colt single action army revolver or "the gun that won the west". Our logo stamped in wax consists of two crossed Smoke Wagons over the state of Nevada. Below it is our motto and a quote from Seneca, bibamus moriendum est. The literal translation is "drink, for we must die" but the meaning is more along the lines of, drink and enjoy today because we won't be around forever. We can only assume Seneca meant to drink responsibly, of course. The Morgan silver dollar (replicated on the bottle's face) was minted in Carson city, the state capitol. It is the perfect symbol and name for our vodka due to its Nevada significance and the fact that silver dollar vodka is silver filtered.
